General
What is Referralrecruitment?

Referralrecruitment is the cost-effective sourcing and recruitment tool that converts trusted social networks into motivated search parties to find the best candidates for jobs and great jobs for candidates. The tool enables recruiters to tap into and leverage their personal, professional, and if desired as well public contacts, to find quality job candidates and build a talent pipeline by posting jobs and offering cash referral rewards for their participation in the candidate search. When a candidate is hired, the successful referrers earn all of or share the referral reward.

In a few easy steps: recruiters subscribe at a small subscription fee and posts their jobs on the site either privately (internally/by invitation only) or as well publicly (externally/visible to anyone) together with a referral reward that they will pay for someone to find the right candidate for them.
Apart from the recruiter, anyone else can register as referrer and/or candidate for free on the site and can refer (recommend) any friends or contacts who they think would be right for a job advertised and/or express interest in a job themselves. If that candidate goes on to be hired by the recruiter, the person(s) who placed the hired candidate is/(are) entitled to receive/(share) a referral reward once the hired candidate has completed 60 days employment. Referralrecruitment will also receive a small referral success fee if a candidate has been hired through Referralrecruitment.

How is Rerralrecruitment different from other traditional job sites?
The main differences are
  • Referralrecruitment utilizes and monetizes the power of referral hiring and social networking by using referrals (via-via) and rewards (no cure no pay) in order to tap into and leverage social networks (of in particular your own employees and their network of peers) and converting them into motivated search parties for hiring where everybody wins to find the best candidates, recommend candidates and earn rewards, and get great jobs. Referralrecruitment differs in particular from traditional recruiting by enabling recruiters to address a group of latent/passive candidates they could not get with traditional means, all those who are not active in the job market, but can be motivated to consider a new job when referred by a friend. The site has a network of members made up of recruiters (hirers looking to hire), referrers (recommenders earning rewards) and candidates (active job seekers looking for a job and passive/latent candidates).
  • Jobs can be kept "Private" (internal/by invitation only) or "Private And Public" (internal and external/by invitation and also visible to anyone).
Referralrecruitment is not only a job board open to the public. Nor is it a forum for you to post all of your jobs. It is where you should post all your jobs that you are prepared to pay a reward (bonus) on. If you are going to put a job out for search via Referralrecruitment then you will save time, money and may result in a higher quality candidate pool for you to select from in comparison with traditional job sites. These candidates by the way are typically the passive candidates who are not spending time by cruising the traditional job boards.
  • Referralrecruitment does keep a unique internal user feedback rating system that promotes a transparent, trust and partnership system between recruiters, referrers and candidates. Referralrecruitment's users gain star ratings based on the frequency of their activities, and how often they are involved in successful transactions. It will be able to show users how individual's star ratings compare statistically to other users in the system. If the user doesn't have a competitive record, users might favour the requests made by someone who does. Over time, users will strive to maintain high ratings in order to maintain the most rewarding participation in the system.
Although the internal user feedback rating system is currently not yet visible for all users, due to the time needed to grow and gain more history to calculate accurate ratings, users already pay attention at establishing a good track record on credibility and reputation once these internal ratings are shared with all users.
Referralrecruitment utilizes this collective wisdom to prioritize and to help you make informed decisions about users whom you don't personally know.
  • Referralrecruitment can be used internationally. For example, although the default language (of the use) of the application is English, job descriptions and referral e-mail messages can be customized/personalized to the preferred language of the users all around the world.
How is Rerralrecruitment different from other online referral job sites?
The main differences are:
  • Referralrecruitment enhances the concept of the private Employee Referral Program (the number one sourcing and recruitment tool) like a Private Job Board (internal, by invitation only) and (optional) as well a Public Job Board (external/visible to anyone) in one easy to use social recruitment tool in search of pre-qualified (in particular) latent/passive job candidates, possibly multiple degrees of separation across social networks, and building a talent pipeline.
  • Referralrecruitment is designed to support as much as possible a word of mouth (viral) effect in spreading the word in a considerate manner by using e-mail message applications to send/share e-mail messages with links via e-mail, social media and providing as less as possible constraints in posting and sending/sharing such as: the number of job postings during the subscription term, the duration of a job posting within the subscription term, the number of job postings on behalf of various clients, the number of job referral e-mail messages, the number of job postings or recipients at a time included in the referral e-mail message, the number of referrers in referral paths, the number of referrers or candidates for each job posting.
65% of people get jobs through personal connections. 75% of these people say it was through an acquaintance, not a close friend, also explained in the "theory of the strength of weak ties" of professor M. Granovetter, which is in particular true for non-managers' jobs. 25% of these people say it was through a close friend, so through "strong ties", which is in particular true for managers' jobs.
  • Referralrecruitment provides users a powerful, high quality system: to enable its users to track the statuses and progress of jobs, referrals and candidates; to provide its users alert mechanisms like "flagging"; to keep track of its users internal ratings to gauge and maintain quality like feedback rates on: recruiters (responsiveness, job fulfillment success rates), referrers (quality of referrals, referral success rates), candidates (assessment rates on pre-qualification, relevancy rates), and other ratings. Although the internal user rating system is currently not yet visible for all users, due to the time needed to grow and gain more history to calculate accurate ratings, users already pay attention at establishing a good track record on credibility and reputation once these internal ratings are shared with all users.
  • The referral reward is set by the recruiter and does not need to be dependant on the candidate's salary level. There is a minimum referral reward amount in order to offer truly an attractive incentive (pay-for-success-only/no cure no pay) for finding a candidate for the job in the referrer's network but making it still a cost effective way to hire an employee.
  • Although Referralrecruitment is an online referral site, which means that for the jobs posted on the site whether privately (internally/by invitation only) or as well publicly (externally/visible to anyone) a candidate has to be referred by a registered user of the site, a candidate can still express interest in a job and subsequently apply for a job directly through Referralrecruitment.
  • Referralrecruiment takes privacy and confidentiality very seriously, for example: compliance as much as possible with the most common privacy laws around the world, enabling/facilitating users to use their own e-mail message applications instead of importing your private contact lists from your e-mail message applications, candidate's name and contact information are withheld (kept confidential) for referrers in the same referral path till the candidate is hired, candidate sends his/her own application and resume directly to the recruiter (instead the referrer has to send the application and resume on behalf of the candidate with or without his/her approval), no need to upload and to keep applications and/or resumes of candidates on the site, direct contact between recruiter and candidate.
Security, privacy and confidentiality are of paramount concern and sometimes compromised above usability, we encourage all users to read the Privacy Policy.

Who should join/use Referralrecruitment?

If you are looking to hire job candidates, looking for a new job, or simply have a large network and would like to make extra money by referring (recommending) candidates that are suitable for jobs, Referralrecruitment is a service for you. Referralrecruitment enables: both corporate recruiters at organizations and professional third party recruiters (at recruitment agencies) to identify potential job candidates, candidates to find great jobs, both individuals acting as private referrers and professional third party recruiters (at recruitment agencies) acting as professional referrers to refer (recommend) potential job candidates.

Why should I join/use Referralrecruitment?

Everybody wins! For a recruiter, it's a golden opportunity to use other people's social networks to find candidates for your jobs in a cost effective manner. For a referrer, it's a great opportunity to earn money from referring your friends for jobs advertised through the site, as well as earning their good will from finding them the job they have been looking for. For a candidate, it is a nice opportunity to get a great job recommended by friends you know and trust.

How much does it cost to join/use Referralrecruitment?

How much it costs to join/use Referralrecruitment depends on the type of user account i.e. how the user will use the system as "Recruiter" or as "Referrer/Candidate".

For Recruiters there are some costs; apart from a small subscription fee, you pay a fee largely based on whatever you think is a fair reward (only) for jobs you fill successfully and most of that goes to the Referrer.
Recruiters pay a small subscription fee of EUR 250 (or equivalent) (for Referralrecruitment) for 1 user during a 6 month term for using the system like posting jobs with referral rewards to get your job out to all the registered referrers a well as advertising it on the Public Job Board on the site (optional).
Only in case of a successful hire (no cure no pay) you will be charged the referral reward (on behalf of/for the Referrers) for referring and a referral success fee of 25% of the referral reward with a minimum of EUR 750 (or equivalent) (for Referralrecruitment) for handling and administering all user and financial activity regarding the hiring.
If for some reason the new hire is no longer employed on or before the guarantee expires 60 days after the hired Candidate start date, no referral reward is due but only the referral success fee. The 60-day money guarantee on the referral reward will be refunded to the Recruiter as a credit referral reward.
Please note that Referralrecruitment will invoice you for the referral reward due to the Referrers and then pay the Referrers once the money is due to them.

There are no costs for Referrers who refer jobs to other people or Candidates who express interest in jobs for using the system.

Currently it is only possible to have one registered e-mail address per user account.
Although it is better to use one user account it is possible to use several user accounts (with various e-mail addresses); so there is always a possibility that the same person is creating a new user account (using a different e-mail address) but we do see only benefit of doing this for you if you are a Recruiter on behalf of your company or a Referrer acting as a professional third party recruiter (at the recruitment agency, on behalf of various clients); we do not see any benefit of doing this for you if you are a Referrer as an private individual. The Recruiter can only register one company in a single registration.

How does Referralrecruitment find the best person for the job?

Referralrecruitment has thousands of members that are looking to hire (recruiters), looking for a new job (candidates), or simply have a large social network and would like to make extra money (referrers).
We know that your contacts who may act as referrers know you better than somebody else can, so they are better positioned to help you to find the best person for the job. All the referrers are incentivised to refer (recommend) candidates they know that are suitable for our jobs and ensure that recruiters find the best candidate for the job and candidates get a great job.

  • Check that you correctly entered your e-mail id by logging in and verify the status of your registered login e-mail id. If your e-mail id is not "unverified" but for example "incorrect" it probably means your e-mail id entered was not correct and try the applicable action again with your correct e-mail id. If your e-mail id is "unverified" it means your e-mail id entered was correct but the verification e-mail did for some reason not arrive in your e-mail inbox; please contact us via the Contact Us page.

To/with whom in my network should I send/share my referral e-mail message?

Referralrecruitment recommends that you send/share your Referralrecruitment referral e-mail message to/with a diverse group of people within your network. In addition to sending/sharing the referral e-mail message to/with all your employees, send/share it especially to/with people who know a lot of people. Such people will offer you the best opportunity through their extensive networks. While your temptation may be to send/share the referral e-mail message to/with people closest to you such as employees, family, friends, you will increase your rate of success by also including acquaintances such as group of peers, social groups that you belong, past colleagues, alumni (classmates), customers, clients, contractors, and vendors.

Therefore, keep following in mind when deciding to select the best possible persons to send/share your Referralrecruitment referral e-mail message:

  • Employees are a primary and most reliable source for referrals.
  • Include people who are well connected and know a lot of people.
  • Ask yourself if you know anyone who currently does a similar job, they will know others in the same field.
  • With every additional recipient, you increase your chances of success but ensure quality and relevance.

To/with how many people should I send/share my referral e-mail message?

While the number of people to/with whom you send/share the Referralrecruitment referral e-mail message is left to your discretion, it is recommended you send/share it to/with a minimum of 50 people, including both employees and non-employees.
Consider that 65% of people get jobs through personal connections. 75% of these people say it was through an acquaintance, not a close friend, also explained in the theory of "the strength of weak ties" of professor M. Granovetter, which is in particular true for non-managers' jobs. 25% of these people say it was through a close friend, so through "strong ties", which is in particular true for managers' jobs.

What does "Keep me logged in on this computer." mean?

When you login using your e-mail id and password, your browser on this computer can "remember" this information, provided the browser settings is also set accordingly, for example to keep browsing history on exit and accept "cookies". If you check mark the check box "Keep me logged in on this computer.", we store a temporarily session cookie in the browser on your computer that contains your e-mail id and password that will keep you logged in, so you won't have to login each time you come back or after some time period of inactivity (and consequently automatic logout), when on this computer and not logged out the website, or turned off the computer.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, it is recommended to leave the check mark box unchecked when logging in from a public access computer or any shared computer, or if an automatic logout after a too long period of inactivity is needed (currently approximately 45 minutes for a recruiter and 30 minutes for a referrer/candidate).
The "Keep me logged in on this computer." feature should only be used on a personal and secure computer that you own and where for privacy and security reasons is not needed to log you out automatically after a certain period of inactivity.

Recruiter
What are the main benefits to use Referralrecruitment?
  • Referralrecruitment enhances the concept of the (number one sourcing and recruitment tool) private Employee Referral Program like a Private Job Board (internal, by invitation only) and an (optional) Public Job Board (external, visible to anyone) in one easy to use social recruitment tool in search of pre-qualified (in particular) latent/passive job candidates in a controlled manner, with maximum network reach possibly multiple degrees of separation across social networks, and building a talent pipeline. It is like having thousands of recruiters (friendhunters/part-time headhunters) working to find the right candidate through one single point of contact with tracking and management capabilities.
  • Ability to reach in particular latent/passive candidates. Registered referrers dig into their little black books (with friends, family and professional/ business contacts) to see who may be good for you but whom may not actively be looking for a job. All of those who are not active in the job market, but can be motivated to consider a new job when referred by a friend.
65% of people get jobs through personal connections.
  • Almost no initial cost, free job postings
  • It is a cost-effective sourcing (generating potential pool/pipeline of candidates) and recruitment tool resulting in an overall lower cost of hiring. Referral rewards equates 4% up to 7.5% of a candidate's first-year gross annual base salary instead of the hefty average professional third party recruitment fees across the marketplace of 22%!).
  • Low risk but high opportunity, results based recruitment (no cure no pay), i.e. the referral reward is payable only on the result of a successful candidate hired for a job through Referralrecruitment (pay-per-hire job postings).
  • Referralrecruitment can be used internationally. For example, although the default language (of the use) of the application is English, job descriptions and referral e-mail messages can be customized/personalized to the preferred language of the users all over the world.
  • Referralrecruitment can be used for all type of industries.
  • Referralrecruitment does offer high informative statistics such as a unique internal user feedback rating system that promotes a transparent, trust and partnership system between recruiters, referrers and candidates. For example: recruiters get to show others how good/not so good a referrer has been; referrers get to show others what a great recruiter you have been to refer to.
  • Aids diversity, social recruitment opens channel up to range of backgrounds and skill bases not found in traditional Employee Referral Programs.
  • Builds recruiter's/employer's branding within social media like social networks.

How do I become a Recruiter?

A Recruiter is the person who registers/subscribes (at the subscription fee) on behalf of his/her company with Referralrecruitment to post jobs with referral rewards (no cure no pay) privately (internally/by invitation only) on his/her Private Job Board and, if desired as well, publicly displayed on the Public Job Board (externally/visible to anyone) (optional) on the Referralrecruitment website.

After registration you are immediately active and may post jobs but jobs will be only displayed open once the subscription fee has been paid and job postings have been checked. If it is the first time registration (subscription) and/or job posting it may be you will be contacted. You can only register one Recruiter's company in a single registration.
Once jobs appear open you may refer jobs to other people typically starting with own employees via your own e-mail message application(s). Persons can refer jobs to other people (Referrers) and/or persons can express interest in a job (Candidates). You will be able to monitor the status of your job postings and their referral paths with Referrers that lead to the Candidates. Candidates will apply directly to you.

What are the financial transactions (costs) for me as recruiter?

When you register and subscribe to the Referralrecruitment service you pay a small Subscription Fee (membership fee/per-user access fee) in the amount of EUR 250 (or equivalent) (for Referralrecruitment) that allows you access with 1 user account (e-mail id/user-id) for a period of 6 months to the Referralrecruitment social recruitment tool. Invoice date is start date of subscription. You will be charged on a recurring billing cycle however you can terminate (cancel) at any time, provided it is prior to the next billing cycle. We do not refund any portion of the subscription period. In case you want to cancel the termination in order to subscribe again send a request via the Contact Us page.

The job postings are pay-per-hire job postings (no cure no pay). The Referral Reward, set by you (on behalf of/for the referrers) with a minimum of EUR 1,500 (or equivalent), and the Referral Success Fee, 25% of the Referral Reward with a minimum of EUR 750 (or equivalent) (for Referralrecruitment), are only due when you make a hire. If you do not hire someone through Referralrecruitment you will not be charged the Referral Reward or the Referral Success Fee. Invoice date is start date of employment.
You have to pay all fees to Referralrecruitment and we will disburse/distribute the Referal Reward to the referrers so you do not have to pay the Referral Reward directly to the referrers.

If for some reason the new hire is no longer employed on or before the guarantee expires 60 days after the hired candidate start date, no Referral Reward is due but only the Referral Success Fee. This situation occurs in less than 1% of transactions.
The 60-day money guarantee on the Referral Reward will be refunded to the recruiter as a Credit Referral Reward. Invoice date is end date of employment.
All fees are payable by bank account or online via PayPal only. You need to have a bank account and/or PayPal account in the name and/or e-mail id you used to register at Referralrecruitment.com. Please note that any costs and expenses such as bank (transfer) charges incurred by you in respect of the payment method will be borne by you.

In addition, Referralrecruitment handles all of the logistics of communicating and disbursing/distributing the Referral Reward among the referrers who lead to the hired candidate.

What are the tax implications of using Referralrecruitment as recruiter?

As with using your traditional recruitment agency, there are no particular tax implications for your company using Referralrecruitment. We simply invoice you for the fees applicable such as subscription fee upon subscription, referral reward and referral success fee upon hiring a candidate, and normal payment terms apply. You do not need to pay the referrers directly (who are responsible for their own tax).
The tax implications to the receipt of the credit referral reward amount if the employment of a hired candidate is terminated within 60 days of the start date of employment is depending on the income tax system in the country in which you supposed to pay taxes. Fiscally the refund of the credit referral reward may be considered as a credit of a "conciliation fee". You are in all cases at any time personally responsible for your own company tax liability, to declare the income to comply with your local tax authorities and for paying any taxes which becomes due by you as a result of our payment to you of the credit referral reward.
All persons or companies registered with Referralrecruitment receiving funds from Referralrecruitment are responsible for their own tax liability and your acceptance of our terms indemnifies us against any liability for these.

Does Referralrecruitment help me directly to find candidates?

Referralrecruitment will not help you directly with finding candidates. Referralrecruitment provides access to hundreds of thousands of euros and/or dollars in rewards for jobs. It is the referrer's task to find the best candidates to fill the jobs and win the rewards.
Though Referralrecruitment can help indirectly to increase the exposure to fill the job postings such as the possibility to display the job posting as well publicly on the Public Job Board on the Referralrecruitment website.

My jobs are in a unique specialty and I have a hard time finding appropriate candidates. Will Referralrecruitment work for me?

Referralrecruitment's network is made up of thousands of referrers throughout a country who place candidates in a wide range of industries and positions. You will be pleased with the high level of specialization that Referralrecruitment delivers. The number of users is growing every day in addition to Referralrecruitment's growing audience.

We like the way we are recruiting and are happy with our current arrangements. Why should we join/use Referralrecruitment?

In today's competitive job market, new channels of talent acquisition are absolutely essential. Referralrecruitment is a fantastic innovative way to source and recruit hard to find candidates in a cost-effective way. Referralrecruitment adds an immediate quality candidates flow for any large or small organization and streamlines vendor relationships and procurement processes dramatically.
We know how important it is to find quality candidates who are going to make a positive impact on your business. These people are highly sought after and more often than not, this area of search has been the preserve of headhunters, using their networks to source prize candidates for businesses and often charging hefty fees for doing so. Referralrecruitment is a system to incentivise others as "friendhunters" at your fingertips to find these elusive people for you but for a fraction of the cost and paying only for results.

Our company uses already an internal Employee Referral Program. What can Referrerrecruitment add to this?

Many companies have an internal Employee Referral Program (ERP). This program allows employees to refer/recommend their qualified friends to job openings within the company. Most companies compensate their employees with a placement reward if the referral placed a qualified candidate in an open position and the person they referred gets hired.

By using Referralrecruitment you will take the ERP to the next level as Referralrecruitment allows employers to receive referrals from their entire trusted social networks of contacts/connections, multiple degrees of separation across social networks, not just their employees with their first degree connections.
Referralrecruitment does enlarge the potential base of referrers that will aid diversity; social recruitment opens channel up to range of backgrounds and skill bases not found in traditional Employee Referral Programs.
On Referralrecruitment everybody can refer a suitable candidate, this way you add new and fresh referrers to your Employee Referral Program. Referralrecruitment is a complete solution which tracks the jobs of recruiters, referrals of referrers, and expressions of interests, applications and resumes of their candidates. Referralrecruitment allows you to quickly identify the referrers and the associated costs.

What if we only use a few or several professional third party recruiters?

That s great, we are not asking you to end that relationship; however we are sure there have been times when these professional third party recruiters (at recruitment agencies, acting on behalf of clients) could not locate the appropriate candidate, or if they did it took far too long. Continue using these recruiters however as an insurance policy also post the job listings on Referralrecruitment. One of our member referrers will have a qualified candidate and the time to hire can be decreased substantially. Better yet manage your preferred third party recruiters as referrer through Referralrecruitment. We give you the option of posting your job listings to your referrers only. The benefits are that now you have a single point of contact with tracking and management capabilities.

Things to consider when using only (a few or several) professional third party recruiters:

  • Do they have hands off policy? Your professional third party recruiter may have a hands-off policy with your nearest competitor.
  • Is it a difficult search? The professional third party recruiter may move on to another assignment. He only gets paid to produce not how long he works an assignment.
  • The power of competition. If your professional third party recruiters know the position is also listed on Referralrecruitment.com they will certainly work a lot harder to retain you business and faster.
  • Are they competing with you for candidates off the job boards? Over 50% of all listings on Monster are from professional third party recruiters. Didn't you think these recruiters where supposed to bring you the 'passive' candidate? It is no longer cost effective for the professional third party recruiters to post on Monster.com if they know you are posting your job on Referralrecruitment.com because of the speed of candidate referrals.

Can professional third party recruiters join Referralrecruitment as recruiter as well?

Yes, professional third party recruiters (at recruitment agencies, acting on behalf of clients) can join Referralrecruitment as recruiter as well (both as recruiter and as well as referrer but currently not combined with one user account).

If you are looking to advertise jobs to hire employees (on behalf of clients) Referralrecruitment is a service for you. Referralrecruitment enables both corporate recruiters (at organizations) and professional third party recruiters (at recruitment agencies, acting on behalf of clients without necessarily disclosing client names) to become recruiters on Referralrecruitment to hire job candidates. In particular if you are a professional third party recruiter at a smaller recruitment agency with limited geographical reach or limited clientele Referralrecruitment will be interesting to use in order to reach beyond these constraints and it doesn't even have to hinder with your already existing client service. Post your clients' requirements and reach out to those candidates you always wanted to but couldn't.

If I am a professional third party recruiter of a recruitment agency, why should I use Referralrecruitment?

Third party recruiters such as headhunters find that they make more money using Referralrecruitment in offering jobs as a recruiter on behalf of their clients and even filling jobs as a referrer for other employers. It is not obliged to disclose your client's name as a recruiter and/or your own recruitment agency name as a referrer (although the latter might be preferable due to tax reasons such as VAT).
You can save time as a recruiter on searching for candidates, building a pipeline of candidates, and spend more time on selection of candidates and making more placements instead of cold calling, negotiating contracts, getting on vendor lists, and collecting fees. Even also as a referrer you can generate incremental revenue.

If I am a professional third party recruiter, what should I put in for "Company Name" and "Client Name"?

Upon posting a job, the "Company Name" will be always the name of the recruiter's organization, the "Client Name" is optional and can be used by professional third party recruiters and will be in most cases the name of the hiring organization. If it is a confidential posting, then you should consider generalizing the name of the hiring organization. For example, you could enter, "leading financial services company".

Does Referralrecruitment work for recruiters with multiple users?

Currently Referralrecruitment allows recruiters to register/subscribe with one e-mail id (user-id) that is associated with one user account. In the future multiple users under one main user account will be possible. The main user will be able to view and manage all recruiter's activity.

If I register with Referralrecruitment, am I under a contract to post jobs?

The contract is bound by time and it only makes sense to post jobs (with rewards) instead of leaving it idle.

Job postings are generally approved within one business day provided that funds have been received.

Upon registration you are able to upload your logo or after registration by editing the My Profile page.
The company's logo file requirements are: File type may be a GIF, JPEG, or PNG. The recommended width is 130 pixels; if the image is not 130 pixels wide, it will be scaled appropriately. The maximum size is approximately 64Kb. The logo will appear on a white background.
However, you can keep your logo confidential as it is not required to upload your logo in your profile and job postings in the system.

I am looking for several candidates for the same job position. Can I place one job posting?

Yes, you are able to hire several candidates for the same job. Please note: for each hired candidate you need to pay the referral reward and the referral success fee.

How do I post several jobs at the same time, same job, just different locations?

Each job posting requires a location, so the same job being offered in different locations would have to be posted once for each place. You may use the same job posting for additional/next hires; the job postings are pay-per-hire job postings.

How much referral reward should I offer?

The referral reward is the amount of money that is offered and set by the recruiter and shared equally among the referrers that lead to a hired candidate. The referral reward may be increased by the recruiter during the job posting. The minimum referral reward amount is EUR 1,500 (or equivalent) set by Referralrecruitment.

Although there is no obvious answer, here are some considerations to take into account when deciding the amount of the referral reward to maximize the quality and quantity of referrals:

  • What are the hiring needs?; how much it is costing you not to have someone on the job. You should offer whatever it is worth to you to find the right candidate for your job.
  • What is the labour market situation for the position in the industry you are recruiting for? How difficult is the fulfillment?
  • What is the available budget? You should only offer a referral reward that you are willing and able to pay since listing a reward is a commitment to pay.
  • Will the amount be significant enough to motivate people you know and people you don't know to help you?
It needs to be attractive amount of money that people will stop what they are doing and take time to look in their little black books (with friends, family, professional/business contacts) and participate in your candidate search. We keep EUR 1,500 (or equivalent) as absolute minimum for the referral reward amount to offer truly an incentive. Have a look what other rewards are given for similar jobs and make sure your reward is competitive. It is possible to increase the referral reward amount during the search. Keep in mind the bigger the reward, the harder people may be tempted to search.
  • How does the referral reward compare to possible costs of alternative recruitment methods?; Remember, contrary to most advertising you only pay the referral reward if you hire a candidate through Referralrecruitment (no cure no pay).
  • How does the referral reward relate to the candidate's salary level of the job?
Our most successful customers have offered their social networks referral rewards in the amount of at least half month's first-year gross base salary of the candidate but no less than EUR 1,500 (or equivalent). For example, if the candidate's first-year gross annual base salary for the position you are recruiting for is EUR 60,000 the referral reward would be at least EUR 2,500, approximately 4.2% of the candidate's salary, which is considerably lower than the hefty average search and recruitment fees across the marketplace of 22% of the candidate's salary!). Take into account how much you would pay to a professional third party recruiter at a recruitment agency for the same person.

  • We suggest you consider a referral reward in the amount of at least half month's first-year gross base salary of the candidate (approx. 4.2% of the candidate's first-year gross annual base salary) but if you need a hard to find employee at short term than a better chance you have that a referrer will spend time to find a suitable candidate is between 5% to 10% (average 7.5%) of the candidate's salary, as an opportunity to thank the people in your network for helping you locate and hire top talent. In addition, when you offer a generous thank you to your network they will welcome the opportunity to hear about future searches.

How do I change the referral reward of a job I posted?

You can change the referral reward after job posting by editing the Job Details page, you are only allowed to increase the referral reward.

Can I keep the job posting private?

Yes, it is possible to keep your job posting private on your own Private Job Board (internal, by invitation only) like a "closed system" for example if you do not want that people in your company see that you are looking for a candidate for a job. It is optional to make the job posting also public on the Public Job Board (external, visible to anyone) on the Home page like an "open system".

May I include or reveal my direct contact details in the job posting?

No, you may not include or reveal your direct contact information in the job posting. Job description is text only e.g. no hyperlinks and excluding direct contact information. If people express interest in a job, it is up to you to establish contact and disclose full contact information. If the people do have any questions/inquiries about the job postings for you, Referralrecruitment will get notified and will follow-up with you on behalf of these people.
Important you keep the job posting such as the job status and the candidate status belonging to the job up to date.
All this will also reduce or eliminate any unsolicited e-mails from referrers or candidates checking on the status of their referrals or applications.

How do I view jobs I posted?

Once logged in, under the tab Jobs you can view the jobs you posted on your Private Job Board (internal/by invitation only) on the Referralrecruitment website. If the job as well has been made public it is as well displayed on the Public Job Board (external/visible to anyone) on the website.

You can view the details of a job posting by clicking the posting. To check the status details of a job posting, you need to be logged in to see the status details such as who has posted the job, who has referred the job to whom, if someone has expressed interest, if this person has been contacted by you and whether he/she has been hired or rejected.

How do I edit jobs I posted?

You can edit the details of a job posting at any time by clicking the posting and click button Edit in the Job Details page in your user account. Only some fields may be edited in order to keep the most important characteristics of the original job posting the same and not to change it into a completely different job. All changes will affect all submittals and will have also affect on submittals that the recruiter has already received; for example, an increase of the referral reward.

How does Referralrecruitment spread the word about my job postings?

Referralrecruitment's network of members is growing every day. In addition to Referralrecruitment's growing audience Referralrecruitment can increase the level of exposure that a job posting receives such as:
Job postings may be displayed on the public job board on the Referralrecruitment website which is visible to anyone. The jobs postings on the public job board are also included in the major job search engines like Google (Base).

Referralrecruitment can also distribute job postings via (newsletter) e-mail alerts, RSS, websites (including blogs) with a Referralrecruitment's job listing widget. A widget is a stand-alone application that can be embedded into third party websites by any user on a page where they have rights of authorship (e.g. a webpage, blog, or profile on a social media site) and potentially earning money for facilitating job postings, referrals, expressions of interests, and applications. Widgets allow users to turn personal content into dynamic web apps that can be shared on websites where the code can be installed. For example should you want to put the Referralrecruitment's job listing widget of your job postings on your own Facebook profile, you could do this by copying and pasting the embed code into your profile on Facebook.

How do I trust the referrer to get me a good candidate?

To build trust between the recruiter and the referrers, we encourage everyone to provide feedback at the end of the recruitment process: as a recruiter it's a great opportunity for you to build your reputation as a recruiter of choice with top class recruitment processes that other referrers can see and at which attract candidates, and for a referrer, you get to show what quality candidates you can refer, thereby increasing your chances of successfully referring candidates for other recruiters.

At the end of the recruitment process, you are invited to provide feedback on the referrers you have been dealing with and share with other users like recruiters wishing to receive candidates from that referrer.
Your ability to give feedback on the referrers discourage them from dumping a whole load of applications and resumes on you, so they only send over the people they really feel could be good for you. It is not in the interests of the referrer to send across loads of unsuitable candidates as they are only encouraging negative feedback on their own performance which will discourage other recruiters from using them.
Although the internal user feedback rating system is currently not yet visible for all users, due to the time needed to grow and gain more history to calculate accurate ratings, users already have to pay attention at establishing a good track record on credibility and reputation once these internal ratings are shared with all users.
Referralrecruitment utilizes this collective wisdom to prioritize and to help you make informed decisions about users whom you don't personally know.

How many jobs per referral e-mail can I refer to other people?

There is no limitation to the number of jobs you can refer to other people (at a time) per referral e-mail.

How many persons (recipients) per referral e-mail can I refer jobs to?

There is no limitation to the number of persons (recipients) you can refer jobs to (at a time) per referral e-mail. We recommend to reach a good mix of employees and other people in your network, say at least 50 persons.
Consider including employees, family, friends, acquaintances such as peer groups, social groups that you belong, past colleagues, alumni (classmates), customers, clients, contractors, and vendors.

Will I know the details of the referrers?

You will only know them by their full name and e-mail address unless they would like otherwise.

Will any user like referrer or candidate be able to access my contact information and call me?

No. To begin with, you are not allowed to include or reveal your contact information in the job postings. Referralrecruitment also hides recruiter's contact information. In case a user does have a question about the job posting, they are invited to contact Referralrecruitment and we will contact you, and return with your reply to this user. Only if a candidate expresses interest in your job posting, and is engaged as a candidate on this job posting, the referral path of the candidate will also be displayed/visible to all other users (members) of the referral path including your full name and e-mail id and this same user information is also made available in the instructions to the candidate how to send the application and resume directly to you via e-mail.

How long will it take to see results?

Some recruiters have seen results in hours, and some not for weeks. We can not give a guarantee on the number of applications and resumes. It is primarily the attractiveness of your job that decides the number and quality of applications and resumes that you will get as a response. It depends on a number of factors affecting the attractiveness of the job, such as the referral reward amount, the job position level, the location, and the difficulty of placement. Although it is impossible to make promises about any particular job, recruiters using Referralrecruitment report that when they post well-priced rewards, they see results faster than with any other means available.

Will I be notified when my contacts respond to a job posting?

You will receive a Referralrecruitment e-mail notification every time someone expresses interest in your job posting, and we will also post the information in your user account.
To check the status of your job postings, login to Referralrecruitment.com and go to the Jobs tab. You will see the total number of referrers, candidates, and hired candidates (hires). Click on a specific job posting to see the details of who has referred the job to other people including the candidates.
To check the status of referrals made based on a specific referral e-mail message you sent/shared, go to the Referrals tab. You will see the number of clicks, referred, candidates, and hired candidates (hires).
To check the status of the candidates who expressed interest in your job posting, go to the Candidates tab to see the candidates for your jobs posted and click on a specific candidate to see the details.

How am I notified when there is a candidate?

Once a candidate expresses interest in your job, you will be notified by a Referralrecruitment e-mail and able to see the candidate online in the system.

The candidate is given instructions to send you an e-mail with his/her application and resume.
You will receive the candidate's application and resume directly per e-mail from the candidate, which will allow you to see if he/she is the kind of candidate you are interested in. We strongly encourage you to contact candidates as quickly as possible and keep them up to date during the time you do have candidates under review or being accepted.
If the candidate looks great, you can continue with your normal selection process and contact directly the candidates you wish to interview. If not, then no need to take the process any further but you need still inform the candidate and to reflect in the system.
Once the candidate has been hired and/or the job posting has been filled, let us know by updating the candidate status and job status, confirming your selection online in the system.
We may send you reminders to check all of your pending applications.

With so many referrers, will I be bombarded with applications and resumes?

In short, no. Recruiters have the power to control the flow of applications and resumes for their rewards and with the click of a button can disengage any referrer or candidate with whom they are dissatisfied after evaluation of the application and resume against the job description.

Also, Referralrecruitment is working on the ability for all users to view internal user feedback ratings to gauge and maintain quality like referrers (quality of referrals, referral success rates), candidates (assessment rates on pre-qualification, relevancy rates), and other ratings. Although the internal user feedback rating system is currently not yet visible for all users, due to the time needed to grow and gain more history to calculate accurate ratings, most users already pay attention at establishing a good track record on credibility and reputation once these internal ratings are shared with all users.
Referralrecruitment utilizes this collective wisdom to prioritize and to help you make informed decisions about users whom you don't personally know. The internal user feedback rating system will increase the quality on applications like allowing you to focus on referrers with a high referral success rate, reviewing referrer's assessment rates on pre-qualified candidates, preventing candidates from sending applications and resumes indiscriminately.
Also you can define filter questions for each job, anyone who does not answer your questions correctly you can drop before taking the recruitment process further such as the invitation for an interview. In nearby future Referralrecruitment will facilitate the filter questions feature also in the system before a candidate is able to apply.

Because I offer money, won't I get lots of applicants who are unsuitable or not interested?

This doesn't tend to happen. The candidate still needs to go through the application process and is not likely to apply just because a job has been recommended to him/her. No one will take time to apply for a job they don't want. The referrers will save you time by automatically screening the candidates after assessing every individual and ranking candidates in order of suitability in a controlled manner so you won't need to trawl through unsuitable applications. In fact, if someone is referred, both the referrer and the candidate will think that the candidate is a good fit, so chances the candidate will be an even closer fit.
Therefore detailed and accurate job descriptions are extremely important. The more specific the information the more on-target the candidates are likely to be. On the Referralrecruitment job description form you need to include requirements that are absolutely essential if the candidate is to be considered qualified. Each referrer and/or candidate must to check off every "must have" prior to submitting their referral and/or expressing interest. They are prevented from submitting the referral and/or expressing interest if they cannot confirm that their referral and/or expressed interest meets your minimum qualifications.

Will the candidate take the job just because of the reward offered?

The candidate you hire is not entitled to receive (a share of) the referral reward. The referral reward paid by you will only be disbursed/distributed through Referralrecruitment to the referrers in the successful referral path of the candidate hired after 60 days of successful employment. Therefore there is no risk that the candidate takes the job because of the reward.

How do I mark a candidate as "Hired" or "Rejected"?

On the page Candidate Details under the tab Candidates you can change the Candidate Status. Click the "Hire" button to hire the candidate or click the "Reject" button to reject the candidate; if applicable, you need to enter also the relevant start date employment or the end date employment.

How does Referralrecruitment know when I have hired someone?

Referralrecruitment's tracking technology keeps everybody informed on the progress of a job posting and its completion.
In exceptional case the status of the candidate has been changed to "hired" and you didn't get a reaction from us, then contact us via the Contact Us page to notify us to pay the referral reward and the referral success fee.

When is the payment due when I hire someone using Referralrecruitment?

Only if the candidate is hired the referral reward and the referral success fee are due (no cure no pay).
When you mark a candidate hired in the Referralrecruitment system, you will be asked to enter the new hire's start date of employment. Referralrecruitment will then invoice you the referral reward and the referral success fee on that date. If the new hire is no longer employed on his/her 60th day, Referralrecruitment will refund (only) the referral reward.

What happens when the person hired for the position is a direct contact and not a referral?

If the person hired for the position is directly contacted by you (through Referralrecruitment) and is not found via a referral, there is no referral reward payment but only the referral success fee payment.

What will happen if I hire a candidate, who was initially referred to me through Referralrecruitment, for an another job and/or at a later moment?

As this hired candidate was referred to you by a referrer through Referralrecruitment you are obliged to pay the referral reward (for referrers) and the referral success fee (for Referralrecruitment).

What happens if employment of a hired candidate is terminated?

Referralrecruitment does offer a guarantee period of 60 days after the start date of employment of the hired candidate.
If for some reason the new hire is no longer employed on or before the guarantee expires 60 days after the hired candidate start date, no referral reward is due but only the referral success fee. The 60-day money guarantee on the referral reward will be refunded to the recruiter as a credit referral reward, provided all conditions have been met as set out in the Terms And Conditions. This situation occurs in less than 1% of transactions.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer guarantees after the initial 60-day period. If the hired candidate leaves after the guarantee period not any refund to you is applicable. With your thorough recruitment process and the 60-day rebate period we feel that this provides sufficient time to identify the right person for you. Although we hope this will not happen, unfortunately there is nothing we can do. The reward you have paid is likely to be much less than a recruitment agency fee which will also have a guarantee period of similar term, or a traditional advert that costs a lot of money with no guarantees.

Who handles the distribution of the referral reward?

Referralrecruitment handles all of the logistics of distributing/disbursing the reward money from the recruiter to the referrer(s). Referralrecruitment will distribute the referral reward 60 days after the candidate begins their new job. The users need to take care of their own tax processing associated with the disbursement of the reward money.

When do I close and reopen the job posting?

A job posting will typically be closed (discontinued) when someone has been hired for the position and no additional/next hires are needed for the same job position. You may only close the job posting if no application procedures are running and consequently all existing candidate statuses have been updated and marked (from "Interested" to) "Hired" or "Rejected" in Candidate Details under the Candidates tab.
On the Edit Job Details page you can change the job status from "Open" to "Closed" and vice versa. Closed jobs may be for a certain period of time still shown when someone clicks on a link in a Referralrecruitment referral e-mail message, but only open (active) jobs can be selected. Closed jobs will not be shown (anymore) on the active Public Job Board on the Referralrecruitment website.
Once the job posting is closed it will be still possible for a certain period of time to reopen again to use the same job posting for additional/next hires.

What to do if I am not able to hire a candidate?

If you do not find the right candidate within the subscription period you can either renew (extend) the subscription period at the subscription fee, please contact us via the Contact Us page or we would have contacted you, and/or possibly increase the referral reward offered, or close (withdraw) the job posting but ensure there are no application procedures running anymore and all candidates statuses have been updated in the system (to "rejected").

How does Referralrecruitment system integrate with other recruiting systems?

Referralrecruitment is a web based application and will not interfere or make demands on any of your current systems and there are no system integration requirements.
The only application needed is your own e-mail message application that you use for e-mail such as Microsoft Outlook Mail, Lotus Notes Mail, Gmail, Windows Live/Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail; it is recommended that you can use as well the most popular social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter.

Referrer
Why should I become a Referrer?

If you like to help friends finding a job they'd be really happy in and if you like to earn some extra money for merely doing what most of us would do anyway: recommending a friend for a job, or refer jobs to people who know good candidates, then becoming a Referrer at Referralrecruitment will be interesting for you.

How do I become a Referrer?

Anybody can become a Referrer on Referralrecruitment. A Referrer is a person or organization who brings a Recruiter in touch with a potential job Candidate. When this Candidate gets hired the Referrer will earn the referral reward.
A Referrer receives a Referralrecruitment referral e-mail and/or views public job postings on the Public Job Board on the Referralrecruitment website and registers for free with Referralrecruitment.com to refer jobs to other people; the Referrer may also express interest in a job.

Becoming a Referrer is in most cases by invitation only. Someone you know needs to send to/share with you a Referralrecruitment referral e-mail message that contains a link. When you receive a referral e-mail message, someone you know respects your opinion enough to request your assistance with a job posting. By clicking the link, you can view the jobs on the Private Job Board (internal/by invitation only) on the website and then become a Referrer to refer job(s) to other people.
If the job posting as well has been made public on the Public Job Board (external/visible to anyone) on the website it is also possible to access the job postings directly and to become a Referrer directly.
You may become a Referrer for more jobs.

What are the financial transactions (earnings) for me as referrer?

As a referrer you are eligible for the Referral Reward when you refer successfully a candidate hired for a job posting.
If you make a successful referral you will receive a Referral Reward Voucher as proof that you will be entitled to a share of the Referral Reward of a successful referral you made that leaded to a successfully hired candidate.
The Referral Reward will be shared equally among the registered referrers, in the first successful referral path, who have together connected the recruiter and the hired candidate.

Disbursement/distribution of the Referral Reward to you is conditional, when all conditions have been met as set out in the Terms And Conditions, for example it is processed only after receipt payment from the recruiter and a minimum of 60 days of employment of the hired candidate (plus the regular payment term of 14 days).
As we will need your banking or account details to complete the disbursement we will contact you first. You will be paid by a bank transfer into your bank account or online via PayPal to your e-mail id registered in your member's account at the Referralrecruitment website. You need to have a bank account and/or PayPal account in the name and/or e-mail id you used to register at Referralrecruitment.com. Payments cannot be processed in names and/or e-mail id's other than that of the names and/or e-mail id's registered. Any costs and expenses incurred by you in respect of the payment method will be borne by you.

If the status of your referred candidate has been changed to "Hired" by the recruiter and you didn't get a reaction from us, please contact us via the Contact Us page to claim/collect the referral reward.

What are the tax implications to the receipt of the referral reward as referrer?

The tax implications to the receipt of the referral reward amount is depending on the income tax system in the country in which you supposed to pay taxes. Fiscally the referral reward may be considered as a "conciliation fee" typically categorised under remaining income of labour or similar. You are in all cases at any time personally responsible for your own tax liability, to declare the income to comply with your local tax authorities and for paying any taxes which becomes due by you as a result of our payment to you of the referral reward.
All persons or companies registered with Referralrecruitment receiving funds from Referralrecruitment are responsible for their own tax liability and your acceptance of our terms indemnifies us against any liability for these. We have to keep a record of all rewards paid and the tax authorities might ask us for this record.

Can professional third party recruiters join Referralrecruitment as referrer as well?

Yes, professional third party recruiters (at recruitment agencies, acting on behalf of clients) can join Referralrecruitment as a referrer as well (both as referrer and as recruiter but currently not combined with one user account).

If you have a vast network and would like to make extra money by placing candidates that are suitable for jobs at companies who you've always wanted to partner with, and get cash rewards Referralrecruitment is a service for you. Referralrecruitment provides new opportunities for the professional third party recruiter to more effectively utilize their extensive database of candidates and generate new business, without having to make hundreds of "cold calls" to employers.
Referralrecruitment enables both private persons and professional third party recruiters to become referrers to refer (place) potential job candidates and earning a referral reward.

How do I increase my chances of earning referral rewards?

To be a successful referrer, you should send/share your Referralrecruitment's referral e-mail message to/with as many people as possible. Be sure to select people who know a lot of people, people who may know good candidates, and people who may be interested in applying for one of the jobs.
Don't forget, people are busy and often a follow-up e-mail message a few days later will get them to take action.

How many jobs per referral e-mail can I refer to other people?

There is no limitation to the number of jobs you can refer to other people (at a time) per referral e-mail.

How many persons (recipients) per referral e-mail can I refer jobs to?

As many as you want, there is no limitation to the number of persons (recipients) you can refer jobs to (at a time) per referral e-mail. We recommend to reach a good mix of employees and other people in your network, say at least 50 persons.

But think first, because this is about quality, not quantity. Referralrecruitment expects you to be rational while sending the job referrals (invitations). You get nothing at all from referring your whole address book to every job you see. Jobs should be referred to contacts, who you think matches the job description. One candidate is all you need to be successful. In case we find that you are misusing the system, we might decide to deactivate or cancel your user account. So be considerate in your job recommendation. As we want to encourage quality referrals and do not approve of spamming it might be even a good idea to contact the people beforehand who are good candidates or people who know good candidates. In case you contact your friends in the first instance to seek their permission to refer them then everybody is happy. This will increase also your referral success rating (which will be important once the internal user feedback rating system will be visible to all the users).

Will I know the details of the referrers?

You will only know them by their full name and e-mail address unless they would like otherwise.

How many candidates can I refer per job posting?

There is no limitation to the number of candidates you can refer per job posting. You can refer as many candidates as you think might be suitable and interested for the job. You can also refer candidates to as many jobs as you want.

Can I refer job(s) to others and express interest in a (same) job?

Yes, you can refer job(s) to other people and express interest in a (same) job.

How does Referralrecruitment prevent a bypass (circumvention) of already existing referral paths via the Public Job Board?

Referralrecruitment prevents a bypass (circumvention) of already existing referral paths via the Public Job Board of the same user for the same job as this would be unfair for the referrers who did refer already the job to you.
If a user wants to refer job(s) to others and/or express interest in a job on the Public Job Board but the same user is for the same job already a member in an existing referral path then the bypassed (circumvented) part of the existing referral path will also be taken into account (added) once this new referral path is created i.e. it is applicable in the event that the job offering is private and public (internal and external/visible to anyone) and the same job posting is referred by the same user e-mail id as a member in an already existing referral path.

Can I refer jobs to a person already referred once?

Yes, you can refer jobs to a person already referred once but not for the same jobs (it would also not make sense).
We recommend to wait till you know this person does not take any action on a job in a referral or has been rejected as a candidate for a job in a referral then you can refer another jobs to this person.

What if more than one referrer have referred the same candidate?

Referralrecruitment prevents that more than one referrer in different referral paths can refer one and the same candidate that is hired for the same job posting. In case the same job has already been referred to a user, only the first job referred in the applicable referral path will be taken into account and any other duplicated job referred will be blocked.
Thus only the referrer(s) in the first successful referral path who referred the job to the hired candidate will be (equally) rewarded.
In case it is a close friend you may want to verify beforehand if he/she has already been submitted by another fiend (referrer) or if he/she has already applied to the recruiter directly.

I referred a candidate and have still not seen any update in the system with Referralrecruitment, what do I do now?

Referralrecruitment makes it very easy for the recruiter to respond to your referrals; however their time frame or 'sense of urgency' is generally not the same as the referrer. As a referrer, you want immediate feedback; however the recruiter may have other priorities or the urgency of the job opening changes. This is true whether working through the Referralrecruitment website or directly with a professional third party recruiter.
Each recruiter receives an e-mail notification on a regular basis alerting them to pending job statuses and/or candidate statuses. If you have not seen any update or have not heard from Referralrecruitment within a reasonable amount of time, say 3 months, then please contact us via the Contact Us page and let us know and we will contact the recruiter and/or candidate to find out the latest status on the candidate you referred.

When do I need to "Flag Reward"?

When a recruiter hires a candidate referred by you, this is normally shown in the candidate status as "hired" with the relevant start date employment on the Candidate Details page under the Candidates tab. But if the candidate has been hired but the candidate status has not been marked hired by the recruiter you must alert us/bring to our attention via the button "Flag Reward" within 90 days of the start date of employment of the hired candidate to claim your reward. "Flagging" being entitled to a reward is very serious at Referralrecruitment and may cause that the job posting will be taken down and/or users being terminated therefore you should flag with care and only if you are 100% sure.

What will happen if a recruiter hires a candidate, referred by me, for an another job and/or at a later moment?

As the recruiter found the hired candidate referred by you through the Referralrecruitment referral you made, you are still eligible for the referral reward.

When and how do I know if my referral has been successful?

A successful referral is when a candidate referred by referrer(s) for a position is hired by the recruiter and remains employed by the hirer for at least 60 days.
Our system automatically tracks each referral to a hired candidate back to its referrer(s) and recruiter. We recommend you to monitor the progress of the referral in the referral path and updates on candidates referred by you to login the system regularly. The fastest way to see when a referral has been (finally) successful is to check the candidate status and start date employment on the Candidate Details page under the Candidates tab.
However, we also recommend you to keep in touch with other referrers in the referral path (if applicable) and the candidate of the referral path (if possible) and track the progress of your referral yourself and inform us when you are sure your candidate has been hired and 60 days employed. It is a good idea to make sure that the members of a referral path are happy for each other being in the referral path in particular the candidate for the referrers, which also ensures that everybody will get their share of the referral reward in case the candidate is successfully hired. We want you to refer people who will be grateful to hear about the job, so if in doubt, you are much better to contact them first. We recommend keeping in touch with your candidate to see when he/she starts with the hirer and letting us know if you get this information.
If a recruiter informs us of a successful referral before you do we will of course relay to you to let you know and arrange payment.

How much time do I have to claim the referral reward?

The referrer must claim his/her share of the referral reward as soon as the hired candidate starts his/her new job, but in any event within 90 days of the start date of employment in order for you to be eligible to receive your portion of it. Contact us via the Contact Us page. If the Referrer does not, his/her right/claim to receive payment will terminate.

How will I know how much referral rewards I have gained?

If you make a successful referral you will receive a referral reward voucher as proof that you will be entitled to a share of the referral reward of a successful referral you made that leaded to a hired candidate. The total of all referral reward vouchers is the total reward amount gained, provided all conditions have been met.
Disbursement/distribution of the referral reward to you is conditional, when all conditions have been met as set out in the Terms And Conditions, for example it is processed only after receipt payment from the recruiter and a minimum of 60 days of employment of the hired candidate (plus the regular payment term of 14 days).
This way you know the number of successful referrals, the rewards that are due and rewards that have been dispatched.
In nearby future we will integrate and show also in the system.

Can I share the referral reward with my referred candidate?

Yes, you can always split the referral reward. What you do with your reward it up to you. However, Referralrecruitment will only pay the referral reward to the referrer. The referrer is responsible for sharing it. Please remember that you may have to pay tax, as may your friend if you gift it to him/her.

How can I be sure that the recruiter will pay the referral reward that is offered?

Referralrecruitment will earn the referral reward from the recruiter on behalf of the referrer(s) in the successful referral path of the candidate hired and will distribute/share equally among the referrer(s).
As part of the job posting, recruiters must agree to pay the referral reward offered if they hire a candidate and 60 days employed through Referralrecruitment.
Referralrecruitment cannot convert pending funds to available funds in a referrer's account until both the recruiter has made payment as we can only pay you once we get paid and the 60-day guarantee period has elapsed. While Referralrecruitment cannot guarantee a recruiter will pay the referral reward offered, there are mechanisms to help make sure everyone is treated fairly. For example, Referrer can "flag reward" and a candidate can "flag hired" to alert/bring to the attention that a candidate is hired. Referralrecruitment keeps also internal statistics such as an internal user feedback rating system to maintain as much as possible the quality of users and job postings. Although the internal user feedback rating system is currently not yet visible for all users, due to the time needed to grow and gain more history to calculate accurate ratings, users already pay attention at establishing a good track record on credibility and reputation once these internal ratings are shared with all users.
Referralrecruitment utilizes this collective wisdom to prioritize and to help you make informed decisions about users whom you don't personally know like the recruiter's track record of paying.
We remind recruiters to mark every candidate status from "interested" ultimately to "hired" or "rejected".

If a recruiter is not updating the candidate accordingly like marking the candidate status "rejected" but instead actually hired the candidate, the recruiter is in violation of the Terms And Conditions. Referralrecruitment will make every effort to collect from delinquent recruiters to ensure invoices are paid on time and in full, however we aren't responsible for overdue or refusal of payment by the recruiter. Recruiters advertising on Referralrecruitment are monitored to ensure they adhere to our terms and conditions. If they don't pay the reward without good reason, we will stop them from using the site completely. We don't like people who don't pay either. With the quality of recruiters that Referralrecruitment has attracted, this has not been an issue as our customers are good honest people.

How do I trust the recruiter to pay me (through Referralrecruitment)?

To build trust between the recruiter and the referrers, we encourage everyone to provide feedback at the end of the recruitment process: as a recruiter it's a great opportunity for you to build your reputation as a recruiter of choice with top class recruitment processes that other referrers can see and at which attract candidates, and for a referrer, you get to show what quality candidates you can refer, thereby increasing your chances of successfully referring candidates for other recruiters.

Can I contact recruiter directly?

No, you may not contact the recruiter directly. When you refer jobs to other people, it is up to the recruiter to establish contact. If you do have any questions/inquiries about the job posting for the recruiter, you may contact Referralrecruitment via the Contact Us page and we will follow-up on behalf of you.

But would I feel guilty about making money off a friend?

Don't, your friend ends up with a great job, the recruiter ends up with a great employee and you end up with a positive feedback and a wad of cash to spend on whatever you choose. If you feel really guilty, then why not offer to split your reward with your friend so he can reap the rewards as well.

I like to help my friends, but do not want to earn money with it. Can I donate to a charity?

Yes, you can donate your referral reward to a charity of your own choice (and let your friend know you are planning to do so). Referralrecruitment can also make this donation in your name.
In case your are so generous to donate your full referral reward to a charity, Referralrecruitment will in addition also donate half of its referral success fee to this same charity, provided you will have us make the donations (in your name and Referralrecruitment's name).
Of course we will provide proof of our joint donation to you. So far we made donations to the most well-known charity organizations such as UNICEF, World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund, Amnesty International, Red Cross.

Can I give feedback on the recruiter I have been dealing with?

Yes, at the end of the recruitment process, you are invited to provide feedback on the recruiter and the recruitment process to tell other referrers about the experience. This can be then viewed by any other referrer to recommend candidates to that recruiter.

Candidate
How do I become a Candidate?

A Candidate is the person who receives a Referralrecruitment referral e-mail and/or views public job postings on the Public Job Board on the Referralrecruitment website and registers for free with Referralrecruitment.com to express interest in a job; the Candidate may also refer jobs to other people.

Becoming a Candidate is in most cases by invitation only. Someone you know needs to send to/share with you a Referralrecruitment referral e-mail message that contains a link. By clicking the link, you can view the jobs on the Private Job Board (internal/by invitation only) on the website and then become a Candidate to express interest in a job.
If the job posting as well has been made public on the Public Job Board (external/visible to anyone) on the website it is also possible to access the job postings directly and to become a Candidate directly.
You may become a Candidate for more jobs.

What are the financial transactions for me as candidate?

There are no financial transactions for you as candidate.

Can I express interest in a job and refer job(s) to others?

Yes, you can express interest in a job and refer the (same) job(s) to other people.

Do I have to express interest in a job and subsequently apply for a job that has been referred to me?

Absolutely not. You should only express interest in a job and subsequently apply for a job that you would actually like and consider yourself suitable for, and you will still need to go through the application process.

How do I Express Interest in a job and subsequently apply for a job?
  • To express interest in a job: click the link in the Referralrecruitment referral e-mail message and open the job you are interested in and click the "Express Interest" button, or click the "Express Interest" button directly from the Referralrecruitment website like on the Public Job Board page under the Home tab, Job Details page under the Jobs tab. You will be guided through the next steps:
  • You will be prompted to register your name and contact information if you are a new user for the first time using Referralrecruitment; Referralrecruitment will send you an e-mail verification notice in order to verify your e-mail address (first-time users only). Login if you are already a user.
  • Once logged in you need to click the "Express Interest" button for the applicable job, you will receive a confirmation/instruction message and the recruiter will be sent by e-mail already your name and e-mail address (in which you also will be copied in). Your name and e-mail id in the referral path are shown to the recruiter; we keep your name and contact details withheld (confidential) at this point to any referrer(s) in the referral path (till you are hired).
  • Subsequently, apply for the job by sending your application and resume directly to the recruiter. The recruiter will then contact you directly for the application process. Only once you are hired your name, e-mail id and some other details such as location, country will also be disclosed to the other referrer(s) in the successful referral path.
What happens if more than one referrer refer the same job to me?

To avoid falling out with employees or friends and to be most fair the system does accept only the first person.
Referralrecruitment prevents that more than one referrer in different referral paths can refer one and the same candidate that is hired for the same job posting. In case the same job has already been referred to a user, only the first job referred in the applicable referral path will be taken into account and any other duplicated job referred will be blocked. The candidate can only express interest and apply once for a particular job. Thus only the referrer(s) in the first successful referral path who referred the job to the hired candidate will be (equally) rewarded.

Can I express interest in more than one job?

Yes, you can express interest in more than one job. To do so, you must click the "Express Interest" button for each job and you will be guided through the steps.

Can I express interest and subsequently apply directly for a job?

Yes, you can express interest and subsequently apply directly for a job. But keep in mind that Referralrecruitment is an online referral site, which means that recruiters find candidates through referrals. These referrals are made by referrers (employees, family, friends, acquaintances) of the candidates who can earn a referral reward. With this model Referralrecruitment offers recruiters access to better qualified candidates.

If I have applied (directly) myself and do get hired, do I receive the referral reward?

In case you are a direct contact who applies directly yourself (through Referralrecruitment) and gets hired you will not receive the referral reward. The referral reward is for the referrers that make the connection to the candidate that gets hired. If you get hired, you get the job!
There are also a couple of another reasons to keep direct applications where candidates might earn rewards for themselves to a minimum. To begin with, recruiters on our site want candidates to take the job because they like the job and the hiring organization, not because they are tempted by a reward.
Another reason is that, although the system prevents a bypass (circumvention) of already existing referral paths via the Public Job Board of the same user for the same job, we would not want you to be tempted to ignore a recommendation from a referrer who referred a job to you and you apply directly yourself to earn the reward as this wouldn't be fair to this referrer.

Note: if a user refers first himself/herself, it is still treated as a direct hire as he/she is the same person and no referral reward is applicable for direct application. Though, in case the candidate asks a friend to refer first, then also the referral reward will be applicable (upon discretion to be shared with this friend as "stand-in-referrer").

How do I keep track of my application?

You will receive automatically an e-mail message when you express interest in a job with instructions for sending the application and resume directly to the recruiter. The recruiter will also already be notified by e-mail (in which you also will be copied in). Further you will be contacted directly by the recruiter if he/she wants to interview you.
The recruiter is obliged to keep also the progress of the application process up to date in the system at Referralrecruitment.com like the job status and the candidate status. If the recruiter did not update yet, you can always contact the recruiter directly.

I submitted my application and resume and have still not heard from the recruiter, what do I do now?

Referralrecruitment makes it very easy for the recruiter to respond to your application; however their time frame or "sense of urgency" is generally not the same as the candidate. As a candidate, you want immediate feedback; however the recruiter may have other priorities or the urgency of the job opening changes. This is true whether working through the Referralrecruitment website or directly with a recr
Each recruiter receives an e-mail notification on a regular basis alerting them to pending job statuses or candidate statuses. If you have not heard from a recruiter within a reasonable amount of time, say 3 months, then please contact us via the Contact Us page and let us know and we will contact them to find out why they did not provide reply to your application.

Can I contact recruiter directly?

No, you may not contact the recruiter directly before instructions to do so. When you express interest in a job and subsequently you apply for a job sending the application and resume directly to the recruiter, it is up to the recruiter to establish contact. Please wait to be contacted by the recruiter. We strongly encourage recruiters to contact candidates as quickly as possible and send them regularly reminders to check all of their pending applications. If the recruiter does not contact you or if you do have any questions/inquiries about the job posting for the recruiter, you may contact Referralrecruitment via the Contact Us page and we will follow-up on behalf of you.

Will my current employer know I'm looking for a new job if they see my details on Referralrecruitment?

Referralrecruitment is a social recruitment site and being a member of the site does not necessarily man you are looking for a new job. We have thousands of user (networkers) registered who are using the site to build their networks, earn rewards, as well as to find great new candidates.
It will be highly unlikely your current employer would see your details on Referralrecruitment in particular before being hired.Referralrecruiment keeps the referral process as much as possible confidential and takes the privacy of all users seriously, for example: members in referral paths can only see their own referral paths, candidate's name and contact information are only disclosed to the recruiter of the job you expressed interest in, and who agreed like normally the case that the application process of candidates will be treated confidential, candidate's name and contact information are withheld (kept confidential) for referrers in the same referral path till you are hired.

When do I need to "Flag Hired"?

When a recruiter hires you, this will be normally shown in your candidate status as "hired" with the relevant start date employment. But if you have been hired but the candidate status has not been marked hired by the recruiter you must alert us/bring to our attention via the button "Flag Hired" as soon as possible after the start date of employment in order to notify the recruiter to complete your hiring and payment and as result being able to distribute (share equally) the referral reward to the person(s) who helped you to get the job. "Flagging" being hired is very serious at Referralrecruitment and may cause that the job posting will be taken down and/or users being terminated therefore you should flag with care and only if you are 100% sure.
